July 1, 2013
Well our race weekend is over and even with the heat we still had a great turn out. We would like to thank Jon Ban for bringing his Shifter group out for the race with over a dozen 80 Shifters. It was great to see all of the karts, it was shades of the old days.
For those of you that did not make it out here this past weekend we would like to bring you up to date on some changes at the track. Paula & I have purchased All Star Karting from the Hand family. Time was flying by, and our option for signing the 5 year extension with the State was coming up soon. With Joey’s busy schedule and racing career overseas, Les & Janet wanting more time to fish and play golf and Paula & I wanting to continue to support the track in the future, this was the best move for everyone. Joey was able to be there this weekend to make the announcement. Paula & I would like to personally thank everyone in the Hand family for their support as none of this could have been done without their dedication to the track.
Les & Janet have put a tremendous amount of work into the track over the last 3 years and Paula & I have some huge shoes to fill to make sure things run as smoothly as they have been. What this will do is reassure the Karters that your track will be around for another 6 more years.
So now let’s talk about the holiday coming up this week. The track will be open for both Thursday and Friday and with the weather looking a little better towards the end of the week it will be a good time to get in some practice. The track is set up for the Modified Perimeter. We also are going to open at 8am Thursday and Friday for those that would like to come out before it gets too hot.
Just a quick reminder, practice fees on Mondays and Tuesdays are $10 for members and $20 for non-members, Also, membership for the remainder of 2013 is now only $80.
Thank you for all your support and have a great day,
Bill & Paula McCallister
